5. Cookies & Tracking Activity
Our Site uses cookies to provide you with a personalized user experience. Other information we collect with cookies allows us to statistically analyze usage of our Site, and to improve and customize our content and other offerings.
“Cookies” are small text files that are automatically placed on your computer or other device when you visit a website. The cookies are stored by the internet browser. The browser sends the cookies back to the website on each subsequent visit, allowing the website to recognize your computer or device. This recognition enables the website provider to observe your activity on the website, deliver a personalized, responsive service, and improve the website.
Cookies make the use of our Site easier by, among other things, saving your preferences. We may also use cookies to deliver content tailored to your interests. Our cookies may enable us to relate your use of our Site to Personal Information that you previously submitted.
Categories of Cookies We May Use. To support our Site and our services, we may use one or more of the following cookies throughout our Site for the purposes set forth below:
- Essential Cookies: These cookies are essential to provide you with services available through our Site and to enable you to use some of its features. Without these cookies, the services that you have asked for cannot be provided, and we only use these cookies to provide you with those services. These cookies do not track your internet use or gather information about you that could be used for marketing purposes. Examples of how we may use essential cookies include:
- Establishing unique identifiers for each unique visitor to our Site to track performance and utilization of the Site;
- Optimizing user experience; and
- Storing user consent data collection.
- Functionality or Customization Cookies: These cookies allow us to remember choices you make when you use our services. The purpose of these cookies is to provide you with a more personal experience and to avoid you having to re-enter your preferences every time you visit our Site. These cookies do not track your internet use or gather information about you that could be used for marketing purposes. Examples of how we may use functional cookies include:
- Gathering data about visits to our Site, including numbers of visitors and visits, length of time spent on the site, pages clicked on or referring URL;
- Eliminating the need for returning users to re-enter their login details;
- Confirming your browser’s language preference.
- Analytics and Performance Cookies: These cookies are used to collect information about traffic to our Site and how users use our Site and services. The information gathered does not identify any individual visitor. The information is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It includes the number of visitors to our Site, the website that referred them to our Site, the pages that they visited on our Site, what time of day they visited our Site, whether they have visited our Site before, and other similar information. We use this information to help operate our Site more efficiently, to gather broad demographic information, and to monitor the level of activity on our Site. We use Google Analytics to improve how our Site operates, to help us understand general website traffic, and to improve our communications and outreach efforts. This feature may use your Google account information if you are signed in to Google and have enabled ads personalization, subject to Google’s settings and consent. Google Analytics uses its own cookies.
- You can find out more information about Google Analytics cookies here: https://developers.google.com/analytics/resources/concepts/gaConceptsCookies.

- Behavioral Advertising Cookies: Behavioral advertising cookies, which may be placed on your device by us or our trusted third-party service providers, remember that you have visited a website and use that information to provide you with advertising which is tailored to your interests. This is often called online behavioral advertising and is done by grouping together shared interests based upon web browsing history. Your web browsing history can be used to infer things about you (e.g. your age, gender etc.), and this information may also be used to make advertising on the web more relevant to you. Although behavioral advertising cookies can track your activity around the internet, these cookies cannot identify you personally. Examples of how we may use advertising cookies include:
- to market to specific users across our Site, and third-party websites, so that we and third parties can target advertising to users that will be more relevant to users’ interests;
- to facilitate social sharing features; and
- to create a unique ID for each visitor to the Site to present relevant advertising.
- Opting out of Behavioral Advertising Cookies: If you would like more information about how to opt out of interest-based advertising in desktop and mobile browsers on a particular device, please visit http://optout.aboutads.info/#/ and http://optout.networkadvertising.org/#. You may download the AppChoices app at http://www.aboutads.info/appchoices to opt out in connection with mobile apps or use the platform controls on your mobile device to opt out.
Web Beacons. We may also use other similar technologies on our Site to recognize and track visitors to our Site. A web beacon (also known as a “tracking pixel” or “clear GIF“) is a clear graphic image (typically a one-pixel tag) that is delivered through a web browser or HTML e-mail, typically in conjunction with a cookie. Certain email communications you receive from us may contain web beacons. Web beacons allow us, for example, to obtain information such as the IP address of the computer device that downloaded the page on which the web beacon appears, the URL of the page on which the web beacon appears, the time the page containing the web beacon was viewed, the browser type used to view the page and the information in cookies. We use web beacons for activities such as monitoring the effectiveness of our communications, to understand whether users have come to our Site from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to measure how ads have been viewed and to improve Site performance.
Third-Party Cookies. Please note that third parties (including, for example, advertising networks and providers of external services like web traffic analysis services) use third-party cookies in connection with your use of their Site and services, over which we have no control. These third-party cookies are likely to be analytical or performance cookies or targeting cookies. These companies may use information about your visits to our Site and other sites in order to provide relevant advertisements about goods and services that you may be interested in. They may also employ technology that is used to measure the effectiveness of advertisements.
Additional Information About Cookies. For a current list of the cookies and tracking technologies used on our Site, including their purpose, provider, and duration, please review our Cookie Declaration https://www.themillardgroup.com/privacy-policy/cookie-declaration/. You can also find general information about cookies and how they work, and how to manage and delete them at http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
Managing Cookies. You can adjust your computer browser settings so that you are informed when a cookie is being placed on your browser. You can also set your browser to decline or accept all cookies. When you first access our Site you may receive a message advising you that cookies and similar technologies are in use. By clicking “accept cookies,” you understand and agree to the use of the cookies and use of similar technologies described in this Policy.
Do Not Track. Some browsers have incorporated “Do Not Track” (DNT) features that can send a signal to the website you visit indicating that you do not wish to be tracked. Because there is not yet a common understanding of how to interpret the DNT signal, our Site does not currently respond to DNT signals. You can use the range of other tools we provide to control data collection and use, as described above. To find out more about “Do Not Track,” please visit http://www.allaboutdnt.com.
6. Advertising & Communications
Retargeting Ads:
Throughout the Site, Millard may utilize tools provided by Google AdWords to support Display Advertising, such as Remarketing (including cross-device remarketing functionality), Google Display Network Impression Reporting, data collection via advertising cookies and anonymous identifiers and/or Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting. In general, this means that third-party vendors, including Google, may show Millard ads on sites across the Internet based upon visits to our Site.
To implement these tools, Millard and third-party vendors, including Google, use first-party cookies and third-party cookies together to inform, optimize, and serve ads based on past visits to the Millard Site. You can find more information about how Google uses AdWords information by reading the Google AdWords Privacy Policy. Google users can control their ads experience (or opt out of personalized ads altogether) at My Account. For information about how to opt out, please click here: Opt-out of Google remarketing
Newsletters & Marketing Communications
On the Site, you may subscribe to newsletters and marketing communications, which may be used for advertising purposes. If you opt-in to receive marketing emails, we may send you updates, announcements, editorial content, or promotional communications. You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us.
All newsletters and marketing communications sent may contain tracking pixels. The pixel is embedded in emails and allows an analysis of the success of online marketing campaigns. Because of these tracking pixels, we may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click. Also, this allows us to adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the user. This behavior will not be passed on to third parties.
SMS/RCS Communications
We may collect mobile phone numbers to communicate with you via SMS and/or RCS text messages. Your mobile number will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We will not use your number for unrelated marketing without your express written consent.
Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Text messages sent via SMS and RCS channels are not fully secure; however, we take reasonable precautions to safeguard your privacy by restricting the content of these messages to non-sensitive notifications. You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying "STOP." You will receive a final confirmation text to verify you have opted out. No further messages will be sent. If you would like to rejoin, you can authorize us to restart by texting "START." For help, reply “HELP” or contact us at michael@themillardgroup.com.
